Whether you are a hunter or fisherman, collector or carver, plan on attending Ohio's largest and longest running decoy and wildlife show. Over $11,000 in cash prizes will be awarded at the 41st annual Ohio Decoy Collectors and Carvers Show and Sale, making this the biggest show yet. The show (open to the public) is March 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and March 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 15471 Royalton Rd., Strongsville, Ohio 44136.

Hunting, fishing memorabilia, and related antiques and collectibles can be found throughout the weekend in room-to-room sales and in the grand ballroom. Visitors will find wildlife art, a vintage decoy contest, exhibits, and carving and sporting vendors offering a variety of quality items.

Known as a family-friendly show, adults and kids can watch hands-on carving and painting demonstrations, two paint-at-show contests, and competition judging during the weekend.

Artists from throughout the USA and Canada compete in 22 carving, and flat art competitions. Kids to adults, beginners to professionals, enter their hand-carved and painted duck decoys, fish decoys, shorebirds, owls, hawks and marsh critters. Over 900 entries were on display at the 2017 show.

And new to the show this year are two Palm Frond Contests where artists carve wildfowl decoys from California palm fronds. "There are few rules in these contests and the entries are outstanding," said Bob Lund, ODCCA president.

On Saturday in the grand ballroom, visitors can view many of the duck decoys and ice fishing (spearing)

decoys being judged in water-filled tanks to determine how they float. And over 200 hunting-style decoys will

be floated and judged in the Holiday Inn pool Sunday morning.

ODCCA is an Ohio-registered non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. The show is Ohio's largest and

longest-running decoy show.

Weekend admission is $5 and includes a collectible show button designed by Federal Duck Stamp competitor Tim Taylor. Children under 17 and ODCCA members are free. For more information, visit www.odcca.net or contact Bob Lund woodcountydecoy@msn.com.
